A couple of weeks ago, I scanned in well over a hundred photos that I`ve had in picture albums for many years. Many were my baby pictures and pictures of family even before I was born.
…then…
In the process of installing Windows 7, I had to backup my scanned images folder. To do that, I copied them to my USB memory device. What a mistake.
…. well,
The pics copied fine, but my USB device has an extreme quirk. If I forget to select `remove device` from my software and go straight to yanking my usb memory stick out of the usb port, then I suffer a huge risk of losing all of my data. Arrgggghhhhh !!! and that is exactly what happened.
So, lesson learned. I should have made a CD or DVD backup as I had previously considered.
Result: I now have to sit down and rescan all of those images and I wasn`t even half way through.
Oh, well!
I *finally* got Windows 7 Ultimate. I chose the Ultimate version because I live in Japan, but need to use English and only the Ultimate and higher versions support multiple languages. I did *not* like the way Microsoft implemented the language support. I had to first install the OS in Japanese, then squirm my way through the different windows and dialogs to figure out how to install English. Apple handles this problem much more smoothly when installing OS X.
Anyway, After installing Windows 7 Ultimate, I discovered that my wireless device didn`t work. Soooo, I had to reinstall my old Windows XP version, download a driver for my wireless device and then *again* reinstall windows 7. Uggghhhh.
Anyway, I am now up and running with Windows 7. The positives are it`s a 64 bit OS and I have more native support for writing in Japanese.
I will learn more about the OS from here on out. But, from the looks of things, quite a bit of changes have taken place since XP. I never used Vista, so I`m a bit behind.
I came across these pics and decided to get them scanned in.
Anyway, here they are.

Getting Ready for Inspection

Hanging out in the PX
Well, I finally broke down and bought a desk today. I went yesterday to look at some, but due to various issues such as delivery and price, etc…. I decided to wait one more day….
Then,
Today, my friend took me and I bought a used desk at a “recycle store” as they are called here in Japan and I was able to buy one for about $15 USD.
So, I’m happily sitting in front of it right now as I write this journal entry.
Talk to you soon.
I rode a train early this morning to a nearby town and then walked for about 20 minutes to a preschool, one that my son goes to.
Today was “whatchamacallit” day.
You know.. the day where all the parents come and watch the little kids dance and sing.
Anyway, my kid was the best.
Well, I can’t complain.
Some team had to win. Of course I wanted it to be my Colts and the worlds number 1 quarterback Peyton Manning, but “NO.”
I’m only hoping that they have the attitude of winning next year and so on.
I’ve been wondering for some time now……
Ya know how hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans about 5 years ago or so….I’m not counting……
Anyway….. people have been wanting a win for them so much for so long…..
….
But, interestingly the Saints will go to the Superbowl for the first time in ( I think History )…..
… but thoughts of professional boxing come into mind about corruption…….
It seems like such a coincidence that the Saints would go to battle with the great Colts ….. and if they win… it would seem like potential foul play could be involved….
What’s your opinion….
Please leave a comment.
I’m sitting here right now, trading on Forex, making money.
Have I told you, I want to become a professional trader?
Anyway, YES I DO !
I just wanted to update you on what I was doing.
Maybe I should use twitter more.
By the way, can anyone give me a sales pitch on Twitter?
I’ve been lugging some old pictures albums around with me for years. I’ve also been waiting for a good opportunity to scan the images and keep a digital copy of them.
Well, I have finally done so. At least for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the photos.
Today, I scanned about 100 photos I’d say.
These photos range from 2 years before I was born until about 10 years ago.
I’ll try and pick some good ones and post them up here. Until then, Here is a baby pic of me.
